Mound Visits, 11/2/20

Yesterday our pastor shared what theologian John Wesley said about elections and voting:

“October 6, 1774

  1. To vote, without fee or reward, for the person they judged most worthy
  2. To speak no evil of the person they voted against, and
  3. To take care their spirits were not sharpened against those that voted on the other side.”

Good advice for us all in the 21st Century.

“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”
‭‭(Romans‬ ‭13:1-2‬)
