When we have a need, God wants us to ask Him for help and direction. In Hebrews 4:16 we are encouraged in our approach to prayer:

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

When we ask, we don’t always receive what we want, but God will give what we need…and it’s usually different than what we expect. Usually, what I really need is a deeper and more intimate relationship with Christ. At that point, what I want becomes insignificant; and, what I need is always supplied.
