To stay on the right path of being the husband, father, grandfather and leader that I want to be, I need to avoid places and situations that would cause me to be ineffective. To say it plainly, I need to resist temptation. I can’t do it alone. I need to stay in God’s Word. The Psalmist says it best:
“I have hidden your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”(Psalm 119:11)
The Word of God is spiritual nourishment giving us strength to avoid temptation. It also a weapon (the sword of Truth) that will defeat the enemy.
