Mound Visits, 3/15/17

Jeremy Affeldt played 13 years in the Major Leagues. The lefty helped the Giants win three World Series championships. He tells the story of being recruited by a well known college coach who offered him a scholarship. Jeremy had wanted to sign with this particular school but the coach who offered the scholarship proceeded to tell Jeremy that he would be a good college pitcher but would never play professional baseball. Jeremy chose not to sign with this school. You see, Jeremy was wise; he wanted to be around people who helped him achieve his dream, not discourage him during the process of chasing it. We should surround ourselves with people who want to help us reach our goals. “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisors they succeed.”
(Proverbs 15:22)
