Mound Visits, 8/9/16

When our children grew older and “left the nest,” it became incredibly gratifying when they give us a call or make a visit. Because of our great love for our children, we love hearing from them!

God’s capacity to love is much greater than ours. So, He receives more joy when hearing from us than we do when our kids call! God wants to hear from you. It doesn’t have to be a long prayer and it doesn’t have to sound like the prayers preachers or priest pray, it just needs to be what is on our hearts and mind. Let your request be known and thank Him for the blessings you have received. He just wants to hear from us! “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

Just returned from the D.R. The players served well and we faced some very good arms! A handful of players and coaches cannot  eradicate poverty or change the world. “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.” Sometimes, it’s easy to get frustrated when the task ahead of you seems enormous. I encourage you to surrender your challenges each day to the Lord. Listen to the Word of God: “…Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15. You are not alone with your challenges this week!
