How can we lead if we don’t know those we are leading? How do we get to know them; understand them? We listen!

“Good leaders motivate others by their listening skills. We are to:
-avoid prejudicial first impressions
-become less self-centered
-withhold initial criticism
-stay calm
-listen with empathy
-be active listeners
-clarify what we hear
-recognize the healing power of listening
Then, we are to act on what we hear.” (John Maxwell-The Maxwell Leadership Bible)

“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry…”
(James 1:19)
“But be doers if the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
(James 1:22)
