When we have a goal, it’s always good to verbalize that goal in the presence of someone we trust. It’s one thing to have a dream or goal in out hearts, but it’s a whole, new dynamic to speak it! Once we share it with someone, now we become accountable to the other person. Accountability helps us with discipline and persistence.
God knows this to be true of not only goals and dreams, but our faith, as well.
“The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” (Romans 10:8-10)
“For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45b)
