I always loved Yogi Berra. Because of the “Yogi-isms” it’s easy to forget what a great player he was. Speaking of Yogi-ism’s…one of my favorites: “So I’m ugly. I never saw anyone hit with his face.”
If you looked at Yogi, he didn’t look much like a baseball player. He was very short with an un-athletic physique, but he’s in the Hall of Fame; not because he looked good in a uniform, but because he was a great player on great teams. He had what it takes on the “inside.” He had the heart of a champion.
“The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
(1 Samuel 16:7)
