During lunch with a former player recently, I was asked a simple question, but I was caught off guard and never answered. The question was this, “Coach, what would you like for your legacy to be?” I haven’t thought about again until this morning. Perhaps it’s a question we all need to ask ourselves often, then we can work on it each day…a little bit at a time. Whether we are 9 or 90, there’s work to be done. Consider the lines of a song written by Steve Green:
“After all our hopes and dreams
have come and gone,
and our children sift thru all
we’ve left behind,
may the clues that they discover,
and the mem’ries they uncover,
become the light that leads them,
to the road we each must find…..
…May all who come behind us find us faithful.”
