Many years ago the minor league baseball team I played on lost a game on a fielding error. The next day, our manager said, “men, you’re making the game far too complicated. Defensively, the game is is simply a game of ‘pitch and catch.’”
Sometimes, we also make our faith journey too complicated. When an expert in the Law asked Jesus which commandment is the most important, Jesus said this:
“…’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
