MOUND VISIT
Ok
Many years ago when I was playing Minor League Baseball I drifted far away from Christ. I became ashamed and felt like a hypocrite when I would try to pray. He wasn’t distant from me, but I felt so far away. The enemy used my guilt and shame to separate me from the only thing that could give me peace…Jesus.
“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”
(Ephesians 2:13)
When you feel distant from God, try these things:
- Read the Word. The Gospel of John is a great place to start.
- Pray about what you have read. You may feel distant, but He is closer than you think.
- When you pray, speak honestly with God. He knows your heart, but He wants to hear from you.
- Spend time with a believer you respect and trust. Fellowship is good for the soul. Spend time with people who add value to your relationship with Christ.
- Silently talk to God throughout the day. Ask Him to help you with meetings, relationships and anything that pops up during the day. God hears your quick, sincere prayers, even when no one else can hear them.
- Create special, quiet times to do this on a regular basis. You will feel and be near to Him. That’s where you find peace.
