The spiritual definition of repentance is to ask God to forgive you and then turn toward Him. I don’t know about you, but when I ask for forgiveness, but I forget about turning toward Jesus, I make the same mistakes over and over again. I need to always turn toward Jesus and through His Word and prayer walk as close to Him as I can.
