C.S. Lewis once said, “If we discover a desire within us that nothing in this world can satisfy, also we should begin to wonder if perhaps we were created for another world.”
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
(Ecclesiastes 3:11)
The small community where I grew up has a country church sitting on top of a hill. In that church, most of the songs we sang were about heaven. Why? Because life could be hard in rural Kentucky in those days. And they knew that “God has set eternity in every human heart.” It gave the congregation joy to sing about their eternal home.
