Henry David Thoreau once wrote, “It takes two to speak the truth—one to speak and one to hear.”

To really value others as individuals, we must learn to listen, patently, to what they have to say. When we do this, we may learn a lot, or me may learn nothing. But, when we listen, we give respect and communication actually happens.

“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,”
