The Heart of the Matter
In sports, coaches know when a player’s ‘heart’ isn’t in the right place. Also, players know when a coach’s heart is not right. Our prayers each morning should be for a heart that honors God and one that places people ahead of personal desires. The psalmist who wrote Psalms 51:10 knew this quite well.
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
(Psalms 51:10)
“The testimony of the lips indicates the state of the heart.”
