There are many things that rob us of peace; selfishness, the love of money, jealousy, envy, hatred, politics, busyness, legalism, and more. Even though Jesus told His disciples that they would have trouble (we all do). He also told them that in Him we can have peace. In Him. In His Word, His teaching, His righteousness, His wisdom, His strength and His love.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33)
“We are not at peace with others because we are not at peace with ourselves, and we are not at peace with ourselves because we are not at peace with God.”
