“Follow Me”
After an exhausting and fruitless night of fishing, Peter was told by Jesus to take his boat and crew out to deeper waters to catch fish. Peter questioned Him. Peter finally relented and caught so many fish the nets began to break! At this time, Peter had met Jesus but he didn’t KNOW Jesus. Check out Peter’s response in Luke 5:8:
“When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”
Jesus didn’t wait for Peter to become religious or turn His life around. Jesus asked Peter to follow Him….now. That’s exactly what He wants from us.
“Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.”
