The Sacrifice:

Sometimes I think about our life journey as a base runner getting on first, then trying to make it home against a formidable opponent. The pitcher tries to hold you on at first base. He tries to pick you off, multiple times, to prevent you from advancing. Then, the Coach asks for a sacrifice and it is perfectly executed advancing you to second base. As a baserunner, you now feel more confident and can get a larger lead at second. Then, a teammate gets a single up the middle. Since you had a good lead, and read the ball off the bat, you know that if you run your very best you can round third and head home. Home. We all want to make it ‘home’ safely. The sacrifice was made so that you can make it home.

“so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”
‭‭(Hebrews‬ ‭9‬:‭28)

“In His sacrifice, Jesus broke the chains of sin and opened the door to grace.” (Unknown)
