What Counts?
When believers argue publicly about doctrine, I’m sure non-believers roll their eyes and distance themselves even more from faith in Christ. During the first century, one of the big debates was the question of whether Gentiles needed to be circumcised like their Jewish brothers. Paul, a Jew, said this:
“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”
(Galatians 5:6)
“The only thing that counts…”
We may argue many things, but if our faith doesn’t express itself through love, it counts for nothing.
