Above All

The people you know the best are often the people that become the hardest to love. Why? We see the mistakes, sins, or bad habits of our spouse, close friends, family members, and co-workers.
We irritate one another!

We think of love as an emotion, an emotion that’s very strong and endearing. But after a period of time, when the mistakes and bad habits become an irritation, we don’t “feel” the love. Then, we hear what Jesus says about love and it changes everything. He says…love one another. So, it’s a decision, perhaps even a demand. It’s not a question of whether we “feel it.” It’s a question of whether we’re going to “do” it. Love is a verb, but not always a feeling. We must learn to make a decision to love in spite of the mistakes we see. That’s God’s way.

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬)

“Christian love, either towards God or towards man, is an affair of the will.” (C.S. Lewis)
