When asked about regretting not being allowed to pitch in MLB in his prime, the great Negro League pitcher, Satchel Paige, used to say, “Don’t look behind you, somebody be gaining on you.” How true. If we are constantly looking at how someone mistreated us in the past, or mistakes we have made it will only weigh us down and slow us down on our journey. Instead, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…” (Hebrews 12:2)
Runners who look back over their shoulders run at a slower pace than those who keep their eyes on the finish line. Keep your eyes on Jesus and finish strong!
