Author C.S. Lewis once accurately said, “No man knows how bad he is till he has tried very hard to be good.” As a matter of fact, some well meaning people give up on “being good” because it’s a battle that can’t be won on our own. God understands our battle with sin and chooses for us freedom. Paul explains it this way in Colossians 2:13b-15: “He forgave us all our sins, having cancelled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” Jesus said, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36) Let’s thank God today for the freedom He gives through Christ Jesus.
