MOUND VISIT “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”(Romans 5:8) Jesus went to the cross for sinners. In order for us to know and follow Him, we don’t need to go to “Christian Boot Camp,” or earn any type of diploma, we simply …
Many people distance themselves from God because they feel they don’t measure up, they are not worthy to have a relationship with a perfect, holy God. I have good news! Jesus has offered His righteousness to us so that we can approach a holy God with gratitude and boldness. “Let Christ’s righteousness and grace, not …
I just noticed that I sent the wrong “MOUND VISIT” this morning. I sent one that I had used only a couple of weeks or so ago. Perhaps God wanted someone to read it twice! Since I’m “bugging” you twice in one day, I will use this opportunity to let you know how rewarding it …
Earlier this week a young friend was tragically killed in an automobile accident. A man held up a Chic-Fil-A in Atlanta and while making his getaway he ran a light and crashed into Richie’s car. Richie Wells was 26 years old. I don’t understand why he was taken at such a young age, but I …
Our faith is important to other people. Our mission today, if we choose to accept it, is to love people the way God loves. It involves extending grace to others exactly like we want grace given to us. The quote below was shared recently by my friend, Clint Hurdle: “You are precisely as big as what you love and preciselyas small as …
“If God were small enough to be understood, He would not be big enough to be worshipped.”—J.B. Phillips “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or …
You’ve probably heard the saying, “people won’t go along with you unless they can get along with you.” If you want to influence others in a positive way, ask God to help you exude the positivity and joy that He has given to you. After all, if we follow Jesus close enough, some of His …
We all make decisions everyday. Some of them seem insignificant, while some seem very hard. One question we can ask ourselves as we make the thoughtful, prayerful and hard decisions is, “how will the decision I make affect my relationship with Christ?” “God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with him.” …
Sometimes, a difficult moment exposes our weaknesses…a bad call from an umpire, someone cutting in front of you in traffic, poor service at a restaurant. You get the point. There are times when we don’t act very “Christian.” But listen to this, we serve a God who forgives, extends grace when we don’t deserve it, …
