Abraham Lincoln was a man who faced great personal and leadership challenges. Like most of us, there were times of discouragement, doubt, fear and melancholy. But, I believe, in his heart was hidden the timeless truths from the Word of God read to him by his mother by light of the fireplace in an humble log cabin.
“And whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God … and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.”
(Abraham Lincoln)
In these days of division, may our nation turn to God and humble ourselves before Him.
“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.””
(James 4:6)
