As I was reading the first chapter of John earlier this week, I read that powerful verse (1:16) about Jesus:
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Many times as I have read that verse, the focus for me has always been “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” That is a powerful statement. But several times this week one of John’s descriptions of Jesus has appeared in my mind and heart: “…who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” It has occurred to me more than once this week, that if we can follow Jesus more closely and more consistently, we will be able to exude His grace and truth. The world needs it. I need it.
