Paul “Bear” Bryant was obviously a great coach. He knew how to break down his ability to lead in simple way: “I’m just a plow hand…but I’ve learned how to hold a team together; how to lift some men up, how to calm others down, until…they’ve got one heartbeat.” Another “Paul” was a great leader, too. Luke said this about the Apostle Paul in his writing of the Acts of the Apostles, “He travelled through that area (Macedonia), speaking many words of encouragement to the people…” (Acts 20:2).
Both of these “Paul’s” knew that a big part of leadership, and encouragement, meant giving those you lead some of your courage…they need a courage transfusion.
