Good Friday represents the greatest act of love and sacrifice in the history of the world. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)
Over 700 years before Christ, Isaiah prophesied this:
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
(Isaiah 53:5)
“The marvel of heaven and earth, of time and eternity, is the atoning death of Jesus Christ. This is the mystery that brings more glory to God than all creation.” — C. H. Spurgeon
