In baseball, the great hitters dig in; they get knocked down, but they get back up and dig in again. Even the most proficient hitters fail much more than they succeed. But they persevere, compete and learn from the last pitch and anticipate the next pitch with enthusiasm and confidence. If we all lived life like great hitters grind through a season, our legacies would be inspirational. Perseverance is an incredibly admirable quality.
“Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” (Walter Elliot)
“…because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:3-4)
