It’s hard to fathom what Jesus did for us on the day of the crucifixion. It’s also more than remarkable what He gave to us at that time. We, who trust in Him, gave Him something, as well. We gave Jesus our sin, shame and regrets. He gave us His righteousness. What little righteousness I have on my own, along with $5.00, can buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Jesus’ righteousness covering me gives life, both now, and in the hereafter.
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
(2 Corinthians 5:21)
“My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.”
