As a baseball coach, knowing what to say during a mound visit may determine the outcome of a game, or even the future effectiveness of the pitcher. Does the pitcher need motivation? Does he need focus? Does he need encouragement? Does he need a firm ‘talking to’?
When I send out these text messages each morning, I pray for wisdom so that I may send the two minute message you may need. Almost always, it’s what I need too!
You will have ‘mound visits’ today with your spouse, your children, co-workers and even strangers? What will they need? They may need many things, but you can never go wrong with giving them encouragement.
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”” (Deuteronomy 31:8)
