In the midst of wars, natural disasters, and bitterly contested elections, there are good things going on in the world today. There are people surrendering their lives to Christ in Christian cultures, and in Muslim and Jewish communities. There are people serving others and praying for people who have lost homes and loved ones. People are praying for people in war torn countries. There are people praying for elections and for the candidates who can’t seem to agree on anything. Even in a messy, sin sick world there is much good going on because Jesus lives in us.
Paul said:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
(Galatians 6:9)
Jesus said:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33)
