Success in one area of our lives may cause us to be arrogant in all areas of our lives. Likewise, a failure in one area of our lives may make us lose confidence in every area of our lives. Winston Churchill once said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.”
James knew that we would have struggles both professionally and spiritually, that’s why God inspired him to write: “Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:4)
Most of the time, if we have courage, it’s failure that helps us mature and grow strong. After all, Babe Ruth struck out 1330 times!
