Follow Me.
Don’t let your mistakes define you. Matthew was a Jew but he collected taxes for the Romans. He was allowed to keep a good portion for himself. Morally, Matthew was the lowest of the low in the eyes of Jews. But when Jesus said, “follow Me,” Matthew’s life changed dramatically. Ours can too, if we follow Him!
“As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.” (Matthew 9:9)
“You find that the things you let go of while following Jesus were the things that were going to destroy you in the end.” (Francis Chan)
