Mound Visits, 11/4/21

One of the great payers in the Bible is found in 2 Chronicles 20:6-12. This is how Jehoshaphat finishes his prayer of desperation:

“Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.””
(2 Chronicles 20:12)

We may not be facing a vast army that has the power to annihilate us, but sometimes we do feel as if life attacks us from every direction. It’s OK to echo Jehoshaphat’s prayer. God is not distant. He is Immanuel, “God is with you.”

“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
