Mound Visits, 12/28/21

While reading the parable of the lost son (Luke 15:11-32) this morning, I was once again moved by the willingness of the father to run toward his son to forgive and restore him into the family. God loves a tender, repentant heart. The older brother had a hard, self righteous heart.

“But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.” (Luke 15:33)

“The difference between mercy and grace? Mercy gave the prodigal son a second chance. Grace gave him a feast.”
