Mound Visits, 3/3/18

Yesterday, the University of Kentucky baseball team visited the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Houston prior to their game in the “Shriner’s College Classic” at Minute Maid Park. Alec Cabacungan, a young man we often see on the Shriner’s commercials, was there to receive an award. Alec has a brittle bone disease and has had over 60 broken bones and multiple surgeries. Assistant Baseball Coach, Todd Guilliams, shared with me what Alec said while accepting his award. From his wheelchair, Alec said, “Thanks, Shriner’s, for helping me live my life without limitations.”

When Todd texted me to share this story he said, “I hope I am that grateful today and believe, with God’s help, I have no limitations in achieving His plan for my life.”

“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
