There are those who place themselves in harms way each day to treat illnesses or to test those who may be ill. There are those who work tirelessly to develop medication to help or for a vaccination to prevent. There are leaders in the health industry that attempt to answer our questions about this contagious virus known as the corona virus. There are governors and other federal, state and local leaders who encourage, even demand, that we follow the guidelines to help us avoid getting sick or spreading the virus. As far as I know, none of us fill those roles. Our role is to pray for all of those mentioned above as well as for those who are suffering from the illness and for those who are living in fear of the illness. Yes, our role is to pray and trust in the One who wants to calm the fears, hold our hand (when no one else is supposed to) and help us through the storm. Be prayerful, be thankful and wait expectantly.
“Work as if everything depends upon you; yet pray knowing everything depends upon God.”
(Ignatius)
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
(John 14:27)
