Are We Coachable?
Coaches share a lot of knowledge with athletes. Many times a player will look at the coach, nod their heads in agreement, then go out on the field or court and do just the opposite of the coaches instructions.
As Christians, we are the same way at times. We read the Word or hear a sermon, then do the opposite of what is taught.
In Matthew chapter 7, Jesus has strong words for those who go their own way after hearing His wisdom. He has encouraging words for those who listen with their hearts, then go His Way.
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
