At 15, there was no doubt that if I worked hard and learned how to go to my left a little better, I would one day be playing basketball at the University of Kentucky. At 17, I thought, if I could just learn to throw a breaking ball for a strike on a consistent basis, I would pitch in the big leagues. I didn’t play basketball at U.K. I never pitched in MLB.
Never once, as a teenager, did I ever dream of coaching baseball for 25 years at Kentucky. God had a better plan.
“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.”
(Proverbs 16:9)
“Work as if everything depends upon you; yet pray knowing everything depends upon God.”
