Grace is a word that’s easy to say but it’s very hard to understand. When I really try to grasp the meaning of the word and what it means to my spiritual journey, I’m overwhelmed. To even come close to understanding the concept of grace, we must first see clearly who we are. “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each one of us has turned to his own way.” (Isaiah 53:6) Once we understand “There is no one righteous, not even one…all have turned away,” (Romans 3:10-12) we can begin to see the love God has for us and what He has done for us. This is what He has done for us: “God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Jesus Christ, who has freed us by taking away our sins. For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God’s anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us.” (Romans 3:24-25 NLT)
So this morning, I’m overwhelmed…and thankful.
