Mound Visits, 6/17/19

Many years ago, as a minor league baseball player, an outfielder on our team always seemed to have a smile and the ability to exude “positive vibes” no matter the circumstances. He could go 3-4 or 0-4, and he seemed to be at peace and made all those around him feel better about themselves. He had joy.

Joy is the kind of happiness that doesn’t depend on what happens.

“Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.”
(Philemon 1:7)

“The joy of the Lord is our strength.” (Nehemiah 10:8)
