Mound Visits, 6/22/17

Earlier this week I returned from Omaha where we “wisely” have our ABCA Board Meeting during the College World Series. After the night game one evening, I spent some time talking to two other former coaches and very good friends. Between the three of us, there was over 80 years of college coaching experience and 3,000 wins. But, we never talked about “wins.” We talked transparently about mistakes we made during our careers, friendships and positive relationships…and, we laughed a lot. We all make mistakes, and we can learn a great deal from them. We can also all build positive relationships on our journeys, regardless of the profession we choose.
“Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl our iniquities into the depths of the sea.”
(Micah 7:18-19)
