Mound Visits, 7/28/17

I want to be careful not to post anything on social media that I would not say to someone while engaging in a face to face conversation with them. The Bible is still very relevant for our world of technology and social media. Listen to Paul’s instructions from 2,000 years ago:

“Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.”
2 Timothy 2:23)

Several times, recently, I have “Tweeted” statements that, thankfully, after re-reading, I have deleted. In verse 24, Paul goes on to say:

“…the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.”

My prayer this morning:

“Lord, help me to hide these words in my heart and to represent you in a way that honors you on social media and in everyday conversations. Amen.”
