The term “life changing” gets tossed around and overused, for sure. On TV commercials there are numerous things…cars, over the counter drugs and even shoes have been declared “life changing.”

No one loves their pick-up truck more than me, but when I bought it three years ago it didn’t change my life. What changed my life was a relationship with Christ. And, when I read His Word, my life continues to change. Many times, convincing ourselves that we don’t have time or that we don’t need to change keeps us from seriously reading our Bibles. But, both of those excuses are a lie. Consider just three verses this morning and think about them in depth:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
(John 1:1)

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
(Hebrews 4:12)

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
(John 3:16)

Life changing.
