Mound Visits, 9/1/17

Sometimes trials, big and small, come down on us like a ton of bricks. The future seems dim and hope fades. During these times, God does not abandon us. Recently, I read the following quote from Max Lucado, “The presence of anxiety is unavoidable, but the prison of anxiety is optional.”

“The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 4:5b-7)
