Mound Visits, 10/23/20

After watching the debate last night I was reminded of the Groucho Marx comment about the secret of life: “The secret of life is about honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you’ve got it made.”

We all struggle with being completely honest. It’s not just politicians or the media. We want to make our position look a little better so we put a spin on the truth. We’ve all done it.

Jesus has a solution to the universal problem of lying, “All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.” (Matthew‬ ‭5:37‬)

Keep it simple. Tell the truth.‭
