I’ve noticed that when I hide a mistake that I’ve made I lose a little respect for myself. I also feel unworthy of love. Then, it’s hard to love others. Sin makes everyone feel out of sync with God, ourselves and with those we love. At that point, you are not who God created you to be. It’s hard to follow the great commandment, “love your neighbor as yourself” if you don’t love yourself!

Through Jesus Christ, God has a remedy for feeling out of sync with Him, with ourselves and with others. He says, “Come to me boldly!”

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (Hebrews 4:15-16 NLT)

When we approach God’s throne boldly, He will hear our confession, forgive us and remind us that since we belong to Him, we have been clothed with the righteousness of Christ!
(2 Corinthians 5:21 and Philippians 3:9)

God wants us to be free of guilt, sin and shame. He wants us to love Him, love each other and ourselves freely. He wants us to “come boldly” and receive the grace and righteousness of Christ.
