Proverbs 17:2 tells us that “it’s better to be a wise servant than a foolish son.”

True wisdom gives us credibility. Can the people we lead trust us? John Maxwell suggests using this self-evaluation to check our credibility:
1. Consistency: Am I the same person no matter who I’m with?
2. Choices: Do I make decisions on how they benefit me or others?
3. Credit: Am I quick to recognize others for their efforts when I succeed?
4. Character: Do I work harder on my image or my integrity?

Credibility is earned, not given. It takes hard work to earn a victory.
