Mound Visits, 1/10/18

Each of us have challenges from family, work and different aspects of life that have the potential to sap the strength, joy and peace right out of us. Because of this, we sometimes come up short when it comes to encouraging others. Author John Eldridge says, “Life drains us dry—and we just accept it as a normal way to live.” Friends, it doesn’t have to be this way. As we begin a new year, my plan is to store more good in my heart so that it overflows instead of draining out or drying up. Here’s my plan. Feel free to hold me accountable: Travel and even vacation with Sharon, fish more, read more, give more, love more, get in to God’s Word more (spend more time with Jesus) and spend more time being thankful. All of those things store up good in my heart. They keep my heart from being empty and dry. Jesus said, “The good man brings good things out of the GOOD STORED UP in HIS HEART…For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45, emphasis added)
