Mound Visits, 11/21/16

Coach John Wooden was a great coach and a man of wisdom. One of my favorite Coach Wooden quotes is “be quick, but don’t be in a hurry.” He knew that as a coach this would reduce the number of turnovers for his team. Jesus’ half brother, James, was a great spiritual coach. He said something similar about 2000 yrs before Coach Wooden was born: “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. For man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.” (James 1:19,20)

In my life, I know there will be fewer “turnovers” if I listen more and talk less.
